FITEL S185 series elevates standards for splicing novelty fibers

Aug 2024 | News

AI-driven demand in high-speed data transmission requires reliable technology. Our range of High-Strength Specialty Fusion Splicers comes to the forefront of this challenge. With 7 innovative models we are continually pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve.

The emergence of hollow-core and multi-core fibres has opened up new prospects for a major technical change in data transmission. Hollow-core fibres transmit light through air rather than glass, reducing latency and enabling faster signal transmission. Meanwhile, multi-core fibres boost transmission capacity by utilizing multiple cores (channels) within a single fibre.

Our S185PMROF is specifically designed to achieve optimal low-loss splicing for both hollow-core and multi-core fibres. The cutting-edge three-electrode system on the S185PMROF creates a wider plasma arc, ensuring more even heating all across the splice point.

For fibres with more intricate internal structures, we recommend to use our revolutionary FITEL S185 End-View Splicer. The compact S185EDV employs an End-View system which seamlessly aligns fibre ends. Viewing the cross sections of the fibres gives more detail about the internal structure providing more control to the user for precise splicing results. Our Composite Image Technology overlays both End View fibre images into one picture, allowing the user to verify the alignment and fine tune to their exact requirements.
